I am Coach Lawrence! I am an English soccer enthusiast with a huge passion for making a positive impact and developing children. I moved to the US and married my wonderful wife Erin, in 2014, and am proud father to a very happy, inquisitive and energetic toddler Andrew and baby Jack!
Having played at a semi-professional level for over 10 years in the UK and coached Pre-K to adult, I want to share this passion and knowledge of soccer as vehicle to make a positive difference in young children's lives, developing them physically & socially and to be a role model, giving them the tools to help them become successful and happy. I have my US Soccer D Coaching License and am a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Professionally, over the last 10 years in the UK and US, I have worked with schools and districts to teach and develop young children through creative writing, storytelling and conducting workshops and lessons for various developmental and curriculum-aligned educational programs and am currently also running Advanced Soccer Coaching for ages 7-18
As a family, we love to travel and embark on new exciting experiences. In my spare time, I love to play with my son, play soccer, sing, read about History and, of course, date night with Erin. I have lived, played soccer and coached in Nottingham, England; Sydney, Australia; Philadelphia, PA and now Wilmington, NC!
I am approved and qualified under the NC Childcare Act to work in any childcare facility or with any age child!
Hello there! My name is Coach Nicholas! I have an avid love of the game and cherish all the life lessons it has to offer. Having lived in Wilmington since 2016, I currently attend Cape Fear Community College in pursuit of a nursing degree. To complement my coaching experience with Coach Lawrence, I am also the head JV and assistant to Varsity soccer coach at Eugene Ashley High School.
My mission with Soccer Kids NC is to create a productive, safe, friendly, and above all, fun environment for these future soccer stars! Having lived around the world, I have absorbed different coaching styles and techniques that will allow me to adapt and tailor my sessions to meet the needs of the kids.
My focus in coaching is to instill in them what the "beautiful game" has instilled in me. Through "football," we always learn so many important concepts like teamwork, manners, and self-respect. I'll never forget the people that taught me those lessons, and I hope that I can provide them with that experience too! See you on the field!
I graduated from and played soccer at Penn State Behrend (division 3 and a branch campus of Penn State) with a B.S. in Marketing. I also received my teaching certification in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I am certified to work pre-K to 12th grade. I've been in North Carolina for a little over 10 years, and I'm excited to get back to one of my passions, working with children!
