I am Coach Lawrence! I am an English soccer enthusiast with a huge passion for making a positive impact and developing children. I moved to the US and married my wonderful, supportive wife Erin in 2014, and am proud father to two boys - a very happy, creative and inquisitive boy called Andrew and his increasingly energetic and cheeky little brother, Jack!
As a family, we love to travel and embark on new exciting experiences. In my spare time, I love to spend nearly all of my spare time playing and getting up to mischief with my sons. I also play soccer, sing, read about History and, of course, date night with Erin. I have lived, played soccer and coached in Nottingham, England; Sydney, Australia; Philadelphia, PA and I am now very happy and proud to call Wilmington, NC home!
Having played soccer at a semi-professional level for over 10 years in the UK and coached Pre-K to adult for 15 years, I want to share this passion and knowledge of soccer as vehicle to make a positive difference in young children's lives, developing them physically & socially and to be a role model, giving them the tools to help them become successful and happy.
Professionally, over the last 10 years in the UK and US, I have worked with schools and districts to teach and develop young children through creative writing, storytelling and conducting workshops and lessons for various developmental
and curriculum-aligned educational programs. Alongside Soccer Kids, I run Advanced Soccer Coaching for ages 7-18 and coach for Wilmington Hammerheads U13 & 14 ECNL girls and have most recently coached Cape Fear Academy, Noble MS and North Brunswick HS.
I currently hold a US Soccer C Coaching License and am a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). I am approved and qualified under the NC Childcare Act to work in any childcare facility or with any age child!
I graduated from and played soccer at Penn State Behrend (division 3 and a branch campus of Penn State) with a B.S. in Marketing. I also received my teaching certification in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I am certified to work pre-K to 12th grade. I've been in North Carolina for a little over 10 years, and I'm excited to get back to one of my passions, working with children!
